DEVIZES AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB AT A GLANCE
Devizes Amateur Swimming Club meet regularly throughout the year at Devizes Leisure Centre.
We have a thriving teaching section where young people can learn to swim to ASA standard.
Our aim is to foster an environment where children can enjoy learning a new sport and life skill, swim competitively when ready and most importantly we want our club members to gain a life-long love of swimming
Making A Difference
If you want to learn to swim, Devizes Swimming Club can help you: we cater for all ages from five years old to adults. All of our coaches are trained how to teach swimming to an approved national standard and we follow the ASA teaching guidelines for swimming
We swim on Tuesday evening starting at 6:00pm with a typical session for a learner lasting about 30 minutes.
The swimming squad are usually those members aged 10 and over who have reached a satisfactory standard in one or more strokes and who wish to swim and train competitively. There is no upper age limit - our Open team starts at about 16 years and includes adults.
The squad enter both the Wiltshire Moonraker Summer League (April to September) and Winter League (December to March) and there are 4 galas in each league.
The Masters section is open to over 18's who would like to take part in fitness and recreational swimming. We swim every Monday evening at 8pm for one hour during term time.
At a session you can expect to swim in lanes according to your levels of ability and fitness. The session is open to all ages, the only criteria is that you can swim (no learners please).
